Evaluation of secondary studies

Evaluation of secondary studies check if analysis meets the substantive and formal criteria for Health Technology Assessment reports (guidelines AHTAPol, PRISMA).

Assessment involves checking the systematic review by Cook criteria, e.g.: the question of clinical accuracy, timeliness and sensitivity of the search strategy, the presence of predefined inclusion criteria for the analysis of clinical trials and assessment of their credibility.

Secondary studies are evaluated in terms of accuracy of the statistical methods and the appropriateness of quantitative synthesis of results (performance of meta-analysis). Then the validity of drawn conclusions is evaluated in the context of potential restrictions of the study.
